Czech Sport Aircraft

Welcome Czech Sport Aircraft Owners, Flyers and Builders!

just wondered how to get new plastic air vents and what to do about a crack in canopy glass. also, the electric attitude indicator is slow to gage. takes like 6 minutes. any advice on these be most helpful. my plane is a 2011 with standard 6 pack flight instruments

Hi Mike. You should be able to get replacement vents via your local dealer (in the US they will then order from the factory via US Sport Aircraft I believe).

On the crack in the Canopy it is hard to know without the details - can you post a picture perhaps? if it is a small crack the size of a dime you may be able to get it filled but harder if much bigger than that - rare for this to occur - was there an incident that caused it? I'm not sure about where you are, but the PiperSports were if I recall correctly sold with a 5 year warranty, and the SportCruiser planes normally have a 2 year warranty in Europe, so probably the rest of the world also and this could be a claim on that - the canopy is not a cheap item to replace.

With the Electric DI - this will be likely either a Chinese origin instrument or a US RC Allen instrument. With the planes we sold here in the UK we ended up swapping many of the Chinese instruments for the RC Allen and the client paid the difference as the quality and stability does seem a lot better - saying that, the Chinese ones should be up to spec and from what you say this may well also be a warranty swap out required.

Hope you get all this sorted efficiently.

Ben

thanks for the info. the canopy crack has not spread for 10 months and was told to stop drill it to keep it from spreading. my plane is based at czech dealer and flight school and he is working on the plastic vent replacements.

the electric attitude was worked on in nov 2011 and started acting up nov12. he is going to send it in for warranty work again . thanks again for the reply
