Czech Sport Aircraft

Welcome Czech Sport Aircraft Owners, Flyers and Builders!

I ow a SportCruiser S# 09SC165 (CS-USE) with Woodcomp 3000 VP prop, and when it had flown 22,4 hrs a welding in the Muffler cracked, causing fumes in the cockpit. It was repaired and welded with Argon. Now the plane has flown 52,4 hrs and the same problem happened again. Is there someone who knows how to solve this problem forever ?

Hi, I noticed several cracks on the muffler at around 100hrs. I welded them with argon and now with well over 200hrs they look ok. Other option is probably buy a new one. All the best, Jerzy.
Thanks Jerzy

Hi

A fellow SC owner friend of mine had sam problem and had a whole new exhaust made up, I have been monitoring mine and so far no problems 240TT.

Can I ask What TAS you get with the Woodcomp 3000 VP prop?

Rgs Chad

I usually fly with 65-75% power and get about 105 kts TAS on coarse position at 4000 RPM ... With these settings and full tanks this means the plane can fly more than 7 hours ...
Hi, I wouldn´t go below 4300 rpm. Originally in the manual of woodcomp it says that 4300 is the lowest. Rotax does not recomend such low rpms. Obviously it is much cheaper but it is not good for engine. I think that for cruise 4600-4800 is ok with 24-25 MAP and you have 110-115 kts at 4.000 ft 15C. However, you burn more fuel, around 20ltrs/h. Regards, Jerzy.

Th

regards, Duarte.anks Jerzy. I now had the 50 hrs inspection and replaced the muffler. Now everything runs fine. I also tested your settings and they also work fine ...
