Czech Sport Aircraft

Welcome Czech Sport Aircraft Owners, Flyers and Builders!

Dated 2008/06/09 - This relates to nose leg shimmy, and measures to ensure this is reduced.

PDF File is attached here.

Informal Note (From Ben):

All new aircraft are now fitted with Goodyear Flight Custom Tyres - if your plane is fitted with Airtrac tyres, we would strongly suggest upgrading to the Goodyear tyres, which greatly reduce instances of Shimmy. These cost approx USD 100, and are money well spent- particularly for the nose leg.

With shimmy you should also check your landing speed - if you touch down fast you may get Shimmy - the SportCruiser  / PiperSport lands well coming over the hedge at 50kts, and touching down just above stall (given clear air etc.). If in any doubt, some circuits with a demonstration pilot of experienced FTO may help.
